This Case Study is from a full-service Boston area restaurant. The opportunity for improvement was identified with restaurant management in June/July of 2014. The solution was tested and implemented in August and September. Results were measured in October of 2014.
Business Challenge: Ensure each guest receives proper attention
Identify potentially "underperforming" checks based on historic check detail. Highlight the checks that are below expected target to servers and manager. Create incentives for servers to attend to these "underperforming" tables in a timely way.
CheckUP: Created a dashboard widget to highlight opportunities
When "underperforming" tables are identified by the system, alert the server and manager through a widget. Additionally, create an indicator for the server to know why the table is "underperforming." And lastly, show servers how much more they have made in tips by attending to specific tables in a timely fashion.
"Lift": Over $100 per day
While the objective was better guest service, customer satisfaction measures can be difficult. So, results were measured by individual check revenue. Without Telative's system, servers were able to catch 2 of 20 potentially "underperforming" tables. With Telative's software, servers attend to 8 of 20 "underperforming" checks. A four fold increase in guest service.
